When I look at the sky,
I see all the stars twinkling.
There are like the people of this planet,
All emitting different types of light.
I want to stand out in that crowd,
And shine brighter than everyone else.
I close my eyes and swear,
I entrust my dream to a shooting star.

- closing song for Naruto Shippuden.

My big toe is causing me grief. I usually pride myself in having a neat pair of feet, but lately I've been hiding them in covered shoes.

You see, my right big toe has turned half black (diagonally across, an utter mystery) after a waitressing stint in heels. Nala confidently tells me, with experience under her belt, that my toe will take a year to heal, and may fall off first.

Today my mom sent me an email with this link: Subungula Hematoma.

It says... My toe will take a year to heal, and may fall off first. *damn*

Treatment

Evacuation of the hematoma not only provides immediate pain relief but also aids in minimizing additional damage to the nail bed and nail matrix. When the lesion is less than 48 hours old, piercing of the nail plate overlying the hematoma (referred to as trephination) can be performed using any of the following modalities: a hot paper clip cautery (held with a hemostat), a hot No. 18 needle, a hand engine with a dental bur, a scalpel blade used as a drill, or a hand-held cautery unit. The heated trephine is directed perpendicular to the nail plate overlying the hematoma; slow and gentle pressure is applied cautiously until blood exits from the nail plate surface. If the lesion is older than 48 hours, the blood may no longer be free flowing and avulsion of the nail plate may be necessary to evacuate the hematoma.

Location

The affected digit often correlates with the sport the 4th and 5th toes in runners and joggers, the 2nd and 3rd toes in soccer and squash players, and the great toe in tennis players.

Lesson of the Day: Be nice to ladies with black toes, they suffer in slience. haha... just joking.

Thought of the Day: I have a hidden tennis talent. =p

First off, my condolences to Von. I hope you're feeling better. I wanted to hug you, but didn't know how.

"DES WAKE UP! LATE FOR WORK THEN HOW?"

You don't get it. I've been awake the whole night, and I'm still awake.

That is how I woke up on my first day of working life. When I arrived at work, only the cleaning lady was there. People drift in from 9.30 - 10 am, and the boss arrives even later. Everyone's friendly, the work place doesn't have crazy cold air blasters, and the people are nice. I already know another girl in the firm. Linda, someone from the ANU days, she's teaching me the ropes.

I like it except for the fact that time is strangely warped over in carrotsconsulting. We had lunch (on the house, a treat from my director for us new workers ^___^) at 2.30pm, and when I left work at 7.10pm EVERYONE, the interns, the MD himself was still there. I only left because Linda assured me I could go.

Oh, and my MD lives in a fish tank office. He can see almost everyone. No pressure though. In fact, I find it fun to peek into his office. It's like a screensaver; a window into a park.

In short, the Job's ok and looking good, but if I can get a decent lunch and dinner at the right time, I'll be happier. If not.. expect to see a famished person knocking at your door next week.

hi everyone!

welcome to my new look of the year, albeit 5 months late.

So, you're wondering what I've been up to? The same. Struggles and Joys. Some highlights:

Yup! I start work tmr! *thank you everyone!*Soooooo happy! It's with a small management consulting company called Carrots Consulting, specializing in pay incentives. I'll be working there as an analyst.

*phew* So glad job hunting is over. It's no fun, and really bad for your self-esteem.

hmmm, but I'm still trying to find more income streams in order to make my wishes come true..
Anyone has ideas? ^^
